Responsibility to the Environment

Our goal is to deliver high quality, naturally grown coffee to the United States, while supporting practices that ensure the vitality of the land, wildlife, farmers and their families.

“Our dedication to providing the best quality of coffee to coffee lovers the world over also includes a commitment to our workers. This means doing all we can to help ensure that the workers who earn a living in the coffee fields of Mexico and other countries have access to clean water, housing, and education, for themselves and their families.”

~ Armando Ruiz Galindo, Ruiz Galindo Family Coffee Roasting Hacienda

Shade Grown on Micro Lots

Our Family Reserve whole bean coffee is sold in limited release. Why? Because it is grown on a micro lot on our farm and meticulously cared for from plant to package. That means every bean purchased will be of the highest quality and will have earned a 100% Rainforest Alliance certification. Founder’s Premium also contains over 30% Rainforest Certified coffee in its blend and all beans are from our high mountain farm.

Rainforest Alliance CertifiedRainforest Alliance Certified™

The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and promote the rights and well-being of workers, their families and communities. Farms that meet comprehensive standards for sustainability earn the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal. These standards conserve biodiversity, ensure that soils, waterways and wildlife habitat is protected and that farm workers enjoy decent housing, access to medical care and schools for their children. Farms must commit to a process of continuous improvement and are audited each year in order to maintain their certification. By shopping for products bearing the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal, consumers can support a healthy environment and help to improve the quality of life for farm families.
