Hacienda Las Animas Today

The chapel at Las AnimasThe historic hacienda has been host to friends, dignitaries and politicians since 1888, and home to generations of the Ruiz Galindo family. And although it gets its name from the numerous fables about apparitions of the region, the only thing “otherworldly” is the taste of the coffee produced here.

Now the center of the 1888 Coffee Company, the treasured legacy of quality coffee production reverberates within its walls.

Though the mill and roasting facility is formally used only for small batch production, the proven, all-natural coffee-farming techniques founded here are employed throughout the operation.

Still enjoyed by the family, and opened on occasion to the public, this beautiful estate is active with the ghosts of coffee pioneers and the manifestation of their labors – superior coffee offered by the 1888 Coffee Company.
